Tourist route
This island in the majestic St. Lawrence River is located in Quebec in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, about thirty kilometers east of Rivière-du-Loup. It floats 2 km from the south shore of the river, in front of the municipality of L'Isle-Verte (not to be confused with Île Verte). On the other side, on the north shore of the river, the grandiose mouth of the Saguenay and the village of Tadoussac face the island at a distance of 22 km. The municipality which covers the entire territory of Île Verte is called Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. You will notice this name on road signs.
