From the discovery of chrysotile asbestos in the region in 1876 to the closure of the last mines in the early 2000s, including the relocation of the Saint-Maurice neighborhood, dive into a fascinating and unique history. Experience a visit to former mining sites through the virtual reality helmets. An extraordinary immersion at the heart of the mining shafts in our region. The Minéro Museum features an extensive collection of minerals and mining artifacts, as well as temporary exhibitions with scientific and historical content. For mineral, rock, and fossil enthusiasts, the Minéro Museum also hosts its traditional Mineralogical Fair every year.
