Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier–Sept-Îles
Réserve faunique de Port-Cartier-Sept-Îles is truly a jewel of Quebec's natural heritage. Covering 6,423 square kilometres (3,991 miles), this vast territory can be reached from Route 138; the main entrance is located in Port-Cartier. At this enchanting site, visitors will discover unforgettable landscapes, including the majestic Walker Lake and the footbridge leading to MacDonald Falls. Visitors can enjoy swimming, mountain biking, canoeing, hiking along serviced trails and picnicking in designated areas. Accommodations in cottages or at serviced and primitive campgrounds (mostly around Walker and Arthur lakes) are also available for those who’d like to stay the night. For sports fishermen, the reserve offers fishing for a day and longer. In the fall, it is possible to hunt moose and small prey as well as to snare rabbits.
