Romaine-1 Generating Station

Côte-Nord
Industrial tours

Discover the Romaine complex, the work of 21st-century water builders, just outside the charming village of Havre-Saint-Pierre. It's here, at the Pélagie-Cormier Portal Interpretation Centre, that your visit begins. The guides will invite you to browse the exhibition: “Our heritage and our environment: a wealth to be preserved”. From there, you'll take an electric bus to the power station, where you can walk over the dam, contemplate the reservoir and the magnificent panorama of the valley. During your visit, you'll be guided under a penstock and experience the driving force of water to generate electricity. You'll also learn what's being done to preserve salmon habitat. An enriching visit! Reservations required.
