Village Les Éboulements

Les Éboulements, whose name comes from a violent earthquake that struck in 1663, offers visitors one of the most beautiful panoramas in Québec. Clinging like a ribbon to the mountainside at an altitude of 200 metres, the village boasts breathtaking views of the cliffs of Petite-Rivière, the Appalachian Mountains, the St. Lawrence River, Isle-aux-Coudres, and Mont des Éboulements behind the village, which was formed when a meteorite created a 54-kilometre-wide crater. In 1790, the seigneurial mill was built and can still be visited today in a magnificent setting at the top of a 30-metre waterfall. East of the village, a small road winds down to Cap-aux-Oies, where visitors can relax on the beach. From the village, another road leads to Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, one of Québec’s most beautiful villages and the departure point for the ferry to Isle-aux-Coudres.
