A trip back to the ’90s with Espace pop Nostalgie ’90
On from July 2 to September 8, 2026, Espace pop Nostalgie ’90 (webpage available in French only) invites you to rediscover a defining decade of Quebec pop culture. Step back in time in an immersive room decorated in typical ’90s style, with iconic video game consoles, vinyl records, everyday items, fashion and notable clips from Quebec TV shows from that era. Designed to stimulate the senses and spark fond memories, the exhibition revisits a time that left a lasting impression on the collective imagination.
Notably inspired by Cirque du Soleil’s tribute to Jean Leloup, presented at Amphithéâtre Cogeco this summer, it sheds light on people’s attachment to this decade.
From La Fontaine to Lavallée: sculptures that tell a story
In From La Fontaine to Lavallée – The Fables of a Woodcarver, on until October 4, 2026, admire 25 pieces by Quebec sculptor Patrick Lavallée, inspired by well-known fables, including ones written by Jean de La Fontaine. Through these creations, the exhibit showcases important touchstones of intangible culture.
Sugaring-off season: a Quebec tradition
On until September 7, 2026, the exhibition Le temps des sucres (webpage available in French only) invites you to discover the origin, know-how and evolution of this time of year when Quebec’s maple trees are tapped to make delicious syrup. More than just a chance to satisfy one’s sweet tooth, the sugaring-off season has become a symbol of identity and a cornerstone of Quebec’s heritage.
Prelude to light
While at the museum, discover artist François Fréchette’s stained glass windows inspired by classical music masterpieces, in the exhibition Prélude à la lumière (webpage available in French only), on until September 27, 2026.
Tour the Old Prison and hear some captivating stories
Among the activities available, the guided tour of the Old Prison of Trois-Rivières remains a favourite. Adjoining the museum, in a building that has been listed a historical monument, learn about daily life in prison at the time through stories and personal accounts. Between seeing the cells, walking the corridors and hearing anecdotes from the past, discover this little-known chapter of Quebec’s history in an immersive atmosphere.
