The history of Prohibition in the region

Did you know that at the time of Prohibition, Brome-Missisquoi was a hub for smuggling alcohol into the United States? While the region was the cradle of Canada’s temperance movement, it was also a popular spot for crossing bootlegged alcohol into Vermont between 1920 and 1933.
