Festivities for the whole family at the Exposition agricole de Calixa-Lavallée

Don’t miss the 144th edition of the Exposition agricole de Calixa-Lavallée (website in French only), a long-standing agricultural show taking over a small town on Montreal’s South Shore from July 5 to 7. Discover a wide range of local products, meet agricultural producers and get an appreciation for Montérégie’s rich terroir. And with fireworks, shows and family-friendly activities, everyone is sure to be entertained! From the mini farm and horse shows to country dancing and helicopter rides, this lively event promises fun for all!

Embrace the country vibes all weekend long

On Friday, July 5, starting at 7 p.m., enjoy an evening under the stars with country music and dancing, or indulge in a traditional méchoui (spit-roasted meat) dinner! Then, on Saturday, July 6, from 1 to 2 p.m., join the Winslow Dancers for a dynamic session of WinFit, a fun-inducing, family-friendly workout. Keep the fun going from 2 to 5 p.m. under the big top, where you’re invited to dance to country music and bask in the lively atmosphere. Cowboys and cowgirls will all find plenty to enjoy, whether they’re experienced in country dancing or not! And don’t miss special guest Yaya La Cowgirl, who will stroll around the site and entertain the crowd all afternoon.

Prepare for plenty of fun family activities

Get ready for an action-packed weekend with tractor pulling on Saturday afternoon and a demolition derby on Sunday afternoon. And if you’re visiting with younger kids, the family zone will delight little ones with bouncy games and farm animals. On Saturday, children will also love watching Yaya La Cowgirl, a street entertainer who will transport them on into a whimsical universe featuring clown games, hula-hooping, lassoing and slacklining. Plus, the whole family will be immersed into the circus world on Sunday, with Productions 3, 2, 1 Cirque offering a show after which you’ll get to try the flying trapeze and juggling!

Marvel at the fireworks and views from up high

The evening of July 5 will be a feast for the eyes, with fireworks lighting up the sky to the rhythm of music. Then on July 6 and 7, take to the skies with a helicopter ride to admire the charming town from up high and the rural beauty of the surrounding area. This unique experience will give you a whole new perspective on the region’s landscape!
