A visual arts show
As part of the sixth Visual Arts Symposium, the Shrine invites professional and amateur artists to exhibit their work outdoors in its gardens. Artists will have the opportunity to meet, talk about their process and discuss with visitors along the river. The public will have the chance to vote for their favourite artist. The event will be held on September 9 and 10 on the Shrine’s magnificent grounds.
The Festival of the Assumption: back to the roots
Every August 15, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – the assumption of the body and soul of Mary, mother of Jesus, into Heaven – is celebrated. According to Christian beliefs, Mary is the first human person to be accepted into the glory of Heaven without bodily death. From August 7 to 15, the Shrine will offer preaching, torchlight processions, masses and new spiritual experiences for pilgrims. Stay tuned for more details about the programming to be announced over the summer.
