The permanent exhibition The Lac People introduces you to nearly 40 residents of Lac-Saint-Jean, who share stories about their region, traditions, and shared memories.

Agriculture, music, food, fishing, and even the regional accent reflect the unique identity of this region and its people. A touching exhibition to explore with the whole family!

Take in sweeping views of Alma from the observation deck

Built in 1937, the former 80-foot water tower at Odyssée des Bâtisseurs has been converted into a screening room. Steeped in history, this space has a truly unique atmosphere from the moment you step inside. From the observation deck, enjoy spectacular views of Alma, its waterways, and the hydroelectric facilities that played a key role in the industrial development of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. You’ll get a fascinating glimpse of a landscape shaped by water and human ingenuity.

Step into an immersive experience with The Sea Inside

Throughout the summer, experience The Sea Inside, a 360-degree immersive film shown inside the reservoir of the former water tower. This 12-minute film takes you on a journey between land and sky, across the region’s lakes and rivers, to meet the people who call it home. With multiple screenings each day, reservations are required only for groups.

Enjoy an accessible, eco-friendly experience

Certified by Kéroul, Odyssée des Bâtisseurs offers accessible indoor exhibitions and activities for visitors with reduced mobility. The immersive film can also be screened indoors, making it accessible to all visitors. You can get to the museum by bike from the Véloroute des Bleuets, on foot by safe pedestrian routes, or by public transit in Alma. What’s more, Odyssée des Bâtisseurs is committed to sustainability, incorporating eco-design principles and efforts to reduce its environmental footprint.
