Gatineau Park’s modernized camping experience

Camping in Gatineau Park is the perfect way to immerse yourself in nature only minutes from the city. It offers camping experiences for every taste, whether you prefer adventure (have you tried canoe-camping?), roughing it (there are tons of spots where you can pitch your tent) or simplicity (you’ll love the convenience of the ready-to-camp options).

Take advantage of the summer months to rediscover the recently modernized Philippe Lake campground: 10 new mini-chalets (including one that is universally accessible), additional tent pads, 30 new campsites with electricity and drinking water, not to mention improved shared spaces that include a waterfront amphitheatre, a kitchen shelter and a revamped camp store.

What hasn’t changed? The beauty of this vast area, known for its incredible biodiversity and warm welcome!

Sweet treats for summer... and year-round!

Foodies, you’ll want to add this stop to your itinerary! In Val-des-Bois, about an hour from Gatineau, Babine – Tartes et crème glacée is known for its artisan pies and pastries made with local ingredients: wild blueberries processed onsite, Quebec apples prepared by hand, maple syrup from Érablière Lefebvre in Bowman, the next village over, and more!

What better summer treat than ice cream? From classic vanilla to your choice of Belgian chocolate coatings, everyone is sure to find the perfect cone!

Good to know: The company recently opened a new production site in L’Ange-Gardien, which means its can now offer its products year-round. Whatever the season, you can stock up on entire pies or individual slices when visiting the onsite shop.

Taste the flavours of the world

The Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy fireworks show is a summer must in Gatineau, and the Canadian Museum of History is the perfect place from which to watch the breathtaking pyromusical event. In addition to the fireworks, you’ll be won over by the artistic performances, digital art installations and a new immersive gourmet experience: Taste the Sky!

On firework evenings, guest chefs will serve creative nibbles inspired by the country featured that night: France, Brazil, China and more, along with signature cocktails, beer, wine and mocktails. There are only 50 spots per seating so don’t wait too long to book!

Go feast your eyes and delight your palate every Wednesday and Saturday from July 29 to August 15, 2026.
