Visit Vallée de l’Or and Amos-Harricana
Vallée-de-l’Or and Amos-Harricana share a history reminiscent of the Far West and offer the perfect starting point for your Abitibi-Témiscamingue road trip. Dig into the heart of mining history at La Cité de l’Or, where you’ll become a miner for a day as you visit an old mine 91 metres underground. Next, the largest open pit mine in Canada awaits at a visit to the Mineralogical Museum of Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Malartic! For a gourmet twist, stop in at la Miellerie de la Grande Ourse and go on a beekeeping safari in a modern country atmosphere. Why not top off your visit by grabbing a drink at their excellent snack bar! Among the region’s gems, explore Anisipi, an activity circuit that will help you discover water and learn more about the benefits of this natural resource. Abitibi-Ouest and Rouyn-Noranda
