Start spelunking in a one-of-a-kind cave

The only one of its kind in Canada, the cave at Parc le Trou de la Fée is unique because it was formed right from the Canadian Shield’s granite. It’s hard to imagine a better setting for your first spelunking experience!

Accompanied by an experienced guide, you’ll take off on an adventure of discovery to three chambers of different sizes, progressing to a depth of 38 metres below the surface. This unusual underground exploration will also give you a chance to learn more about the little brown bat, a small, little-known mysterious animal found in the refuges of the cave’s depths. A memorable activity for the whole family!

Walk over the abyss

With its five paths, its footbridges and its suspension bridges, the park is also a playground for hiking enthusiasts and thrill-seekers. The footbridges are solidly anchored directly in the rocks and the two suspension bridges let you gaze down at the Metabetchouan River in complete safety, sometimes from more than 60 metres above.

The highlight of this circuit is clear–the journey across the glass-bottomed platform that will make you feel like you’re floating above the abyss and give you a dizzying perspective of its gorges. The path following the water, for its part, brings to mind the site’s industrial heritage, adding a historical element to the experience.

Experience the immersive ECHO, the memory of stones

To cap off your visit, the immersive show ECHO, the memory of stones invites you to dive into the site’s history with your senses. Presented in a room carved directly into the granite, this experience–the only one of its kind in Quebec–comes to life in a natural amphitheatre 7 metres high and 16 metres across. A 360 degree projection, aided by sound effects and a light show, reveals the park’s past in a captivating way, tracing the important events that shaped this place.
