Located 2 hours from Montreal, in the Mauricie region, Mékinac is a vast natural landscape where outdoor activities, culinary discoveries, and unique events come together.
This fall, book a cottage in the area, attend a mega popular western festival and enjoy a tasty break at Café Aux Cinq Sœurs to discover the region’s history and flavours.
The Mékinac region
Stay in the heart of Mékinac
Mékinac boasts more than 250 vacation cottages available for rent. No matter how long your stay is or whether you’re travelling with friends, family or as a couple, you’ll find the perfect cottage where you can slow down and enjoy the region.
From log cabins to modern cottages, located in a protected forest area, in front of a lake or deep in nature, there’s no shortage of options. Indulge in a warm and comfortable space, escape the daily grind and set out to discover the gems of the Mékinac region.
Experience the one-and-only Festival Western de St-Tite
From September 11 to 20, 2026, the town of Saint-Tite comes alive during the Festival Western de St-Tite, welcoming hundreds of thousands of festival-goers!
This iconic festival immerses you in an atmosphere straight out of the Wild West. Browse the booths and food trucks, catch live country music and spectacular rodeos, and then join in the line-dancing evenings.
Families are also welcome! Pony rides, bouncy games and activity areas await young cowboys and cowgirls.
Access to the town’s streets is free, but to enjoy certain activities or access certain sites, be sure to get your sheriff’s star passport. Specific tickets are also required for the rodeos and certain shows. Put on your hat and boots and get ready to experience the unique atmosphere of this iconic western festival.
Have a coffee and a snack in a storied café
In Sainte-Thècle, Aux Cinq Sœurs is a café located in the village’s former general store, once run by the five LeBlanc sisters, who left their mark on local history.
Today, the café carries on their legacy and the welcoming atmosphere of the store of yesteryear. Sip a coffee, smoothie, lemonade or milkshake and bite into a pastry, brioche or danish. Before you leave, stop by the shop to discover Quebec products and take the flavours of the region back home with you.
Between nature, festivities and tasty local delights, make the most of your stay to discover everything the Mékinac region has to offer!
