A heritage site to explore at your own pace

Built around 1765, Moulin seigneurial de Pointe-du-Lac is one of Quebec’s finest examples of rural architecture. Tours are self-guided or using the audio guide, so everyone can explore the former flour mill and sawmill at their own pace.

During the summer, the exhibition spaces also display artwork by Quebec artists. After touring the interior, the Grand boisé forested area offers more than six kilometres of marked trails that run along the Saint-Charles River, cross the Des Seigneurs Canal and provide different views of the architectural site.

Even after peak season ends, the mill continues to host one-off activities, such as ice sculpture exhibits and polar plunges. The programming changes with the seasons.

Learn about world cultures through bread

New this season, the Breads of the World workshop takes visitors on a culinary voyage to learn about a nearly universal food: bread. Whether made with wheat, maize or cassava flour, at the mill, bread is a common ground between cultures and creates an opportunity to discuss different breadmaking traditions.

Each workshop features a guest baker who will present the recipe for a bread from their culture. In addition to the breadmaking demonstration, participants will get to taste the final product and take home freshly baked buns.

A destination also available to groups

Moulin seigneurial de Pointe-du-Lac also has a flexible offer for groups of 20 or more people. Groups can book a guided tour of the mill and combine it with a breadmaking workshop on a date of their choosing. This allows schools, organizations and tour groups to have an experience tailored to their needs, in a unique heritage setting. Bookings are available nearly year-round, except in the coldest part of winter, between mid-December and mid-March.
