Visitors watching the salmon run.

Passe migratoire de la Jacques-Cartier

The Passe migratoire de Cap-Santé (fish passage) in Cap-Santé was designed to allow Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) migrating upstream along the Jacques-Cartier River during spawning season to cross the hydroelectric dam built at the beginning of the century. On site, a short trail and interpretive panels will help you learn about salmon migration, the dam, and the hydroelectric power plant. A CBJC staff member will be on hand to answer your questions during the following hours: 7 days a week, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., from June 22 through September 4.
