If you love adventure and the great outdoors, the Jacques-Cartier River valley is the perfect destination for a canoe-camping trip. The suggested circuits are dotted with backcountry campsites where you can spend the night under the stars deep in the valley. The river, with its sometimes calm, sometimes wilder waters, reveals changing landscapes. 

A shuttle service takes care of the logistics, letting you fully enjoy your time on the water. Or you can rent a canoe directly on-site and head out on your own initiative.

Among the many activities available during the summer season, Sous les roches géantes (under giant boulders) is a fascinating immersion in a natural world as impressive as it is fragile. 

Choose from one of two departure times each day in summer to explore unusual passageways carved by huge boulders in the heart of the valley. Your naturalist guide will explain how the Jacques-Cartier Valley was formed over time, and you will get a chance to closely examine the moss-covered walls and other features of this unique environment. You will emerge with a better understanding of the fragility of this exceptional ecosystem and the importance of preserving it.
