For a comprehensive and accessible introduction to this craft—unique to Quebec—the museum’s permanent exhibition, Créativité sur mesure en fonderie d’art (custom creativity in art casting) takes you behind the scenes of the creation of a bronze sculpture. Step by step, you’ll follow the guide and see how works of art are made using the lost-wax process (from modeling to patina, including casting, shell making, pouring, and chiseling). You’ll also learn about the history of art foundry and the various creative methods.

To take the experience even further, explore a local foundry as if you were really there thanks to virtual reality or take part in a modeling workshop for the whole family.

Something new: a must-see temporary exhibit

A new temporary exhibition offers a glimpse into the world of Quebec artist Marc-André J. Fortier. Nous sommes tous humains! (we are all human)—presented until September 27, 2026—features works by this contemporary figurative sculptor, who explores, with sensitivity and a touch of humour, what unites us beneath our outward appearances: contradictions, aspirations, impulses, and vulnerabilities of all kinds.

Among other things, you’ll be able to see a series of bronze models of iconic public sculptures (including those dedicated to Montreal Canadiens legends) as well as figures normally installed at Montreal’s Place d’Armes, which explore identity and cultural coexistence.
