Quebec’s craft breweries and distilleries have been all the rage for some time now, and the events celebrating them are always very popular. Chicoutimi’s Festival des Bières du Monde (website in French only) has certainly found the winning recipe, attracting over 65,000 beer enthusiasts to sample local and foreign products in a festive atmosphere. The musical lineup, which includes some free shows and features popular local artists and even a few internationally renowned ones, adds the cherry on top of this event that’s been a must-attend for 15 years now! Travel back to New France

A trip to Saguenay is one thing, but a trip back in time in Saguenay, now that’s something else! And that’s exactly what you can expect at the Site de la Nouvelle-France (website in French only), which is reopening after a few years’ closure. With its 10 buildings, characters in period costumes and some 150,000 artifacts, the site recreates the daily life of New France settlers in the 17th century.
