Festival de la chanson de Petite-Vallée
Some parts of the world have a special kind of energy! Every summer, the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée in Gaspésie offers much more than just music shows. It's a musical destination where song becomes a way of life. The village comes alive, voices resonate and everything converges on the riverfront, where the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge brings artists and audiences together in a shared breath. It's a place where performances move you and where meetings leave a lasting impression. Between songs, have a sit down at Alfred's, a café/cabaret that is generous and festive. Much more than a festival, it's a way of life in the Gaspésie region.
A summer must for Quebec music
When summer comes to Petite-Vallée, songs take center stage. This is particularly true of the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée, happening from June 25 to July 5, 2025. From sunrise to sunset, the village is transformed into an open-air stage, carried by the sea-salted air and the enthusiasm of spectators. It's a sight to behold!
More than 60 shows, presented in welcoming venues all around the village, keep the heart of the festival beating, between waves of excitement and quieter intimate concerts. At noon, the Amène donc ta gang series of free shows brings music lovers together for moments that are both simple and luminous. Legendary Quebec band of the 70s Beau Dommage will also add a unique touch to this 42nd edition, making it a larger-than-life experience. But this 10-day festival is just a glimpse of the cultural program that brings the village to life all year round.
Petite-Vallée, a small village where big things happen
Between the sky and the sea, in the heart of the village, an iconic venue is finding its voice again: the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge. Strong and alive after a fire in 2017, it is now reborn, with strength and beauty. Completely rebuilt, this theatre - also the festival's headquarters - now embodies the cultural soul of the Gaspésie region in a setting of contemporary architecture, both luminous and warm.
Open year-round, it offers flexible spaces, a spectacular view of the river and a sparkling program of music, theatre and performing arts. A real treat! In the fall, the celebration continues with cultural events that warm up the season. It really is a special place to experience!
Pairing local eats with music in Gaspésie

As soon as you enter you will be carried away by the smell of warm bread, comforting guitar chords and the feel of the nearby sea. Serving up a festive ambience with local cuisine, Alfred makes the flavours of seaside Gaspesie dance with simplicity and generosity. From noon to late at night, the atmosphere is entrancing and enhanced with clinking glasses and boisterous voices. It’s a place to enjoy food, music and the present moment. And every time, you’re sure to make plans to come back!
