Located in Outaouais, the Petite Nation region is an ideal destination for a spring getaway as a couple or with friends. Between cycling adventures, bird-watching walks and cultural attractions, it promises an authentic experience with plenty to see and do. Whether you love the outdoors, are a history buff or simply enjoy country landscapes, every moment spent in Petite Nation will create memories to last a lifetime.

Explore on two wheels

Petite Nation has a variety of cycling routes suitable for all skill levels. Road cycling is popular thanks to an 87-km loop between Thurso and Montebello that is part of the La Route Verte network of cycling trails. This circuit combines scenic landscapes, gourmet stops and heritage gems to discover. Mountain biking dominates in Parc récréatif de la Maskinongé and on the thrilling trails of Montebello Vélo de Montagne, while gravel biking gives you lots to see off the beaten path. Finally, families will enjoy cycling the Louis-Joseph-Papineau trail or going for a history-themed bike ride in Duhamel.

Watch wild birds on a biodiverse site

In the spring, a birdsong symphony awaits ornithologists at Parc national de Plaisance. With its bays, ponds and marshes, it is the ideal habitat for more than 265 bird species, around 100 of which can be seen or heard in a single day during the migratory period! The park has several spots perfect for bird-watching, including a circuit with a floating walkway and a footbridge on stilts, allowing you to step right into their world. The parc also offers ornithological workshops, guided hikes and several accommodations giving guests a front row seat to this concert put on by nature!
